Angela brought Cabinet Minister Harriet Harman MP to Corringham on 17th September, to emphasise the importance of a thriving small shopping centre which is holding its own in the days of the huge shopping malls of Lakeside and Bluewater.

Harriet Harman spoke to shoppers and traders about their concerns and talked about what is happening to help people, particularly with energy costs. She said, "We are going to help people with energy saving and help families with a big £2.7 billion tax rebate later this month."

The Thurrock Gazette has quoted a trade as saying, "She seemed interested in what people had to say and took her time with them. The fact that she shows an interest is positive."
