Angela Smith has written to the Planning Inspectorate, adding her opposition to developers’ plans to build a large number of houses on the Bata Field in East Tilbury.
Angela said, “I am certainly not against the building of affordable homes, especially to rent, on suitable sites – but this would increase the size of the village out of all proportion, without providing to the necessary support in infrastructure.
"I am sure the plans will not go ahead as neither the Development Corporation nor the Council support them. I have cited loss of open space, affect on services, increased congestion at the level crossing and the flood plain/drainage issues as reasons I am opposed to this proposal. Its seems an entirely speculative application but I wanted to ensure my objections were clearly registered.”
